A possible suspect in the murder of a young Wayne County mother is now the subject of a grand jury investigation. Alberto Reyes learned that during a court hearing on charges of evidence tampering.

Reyes is charged with moving the body of Selena Hidalgo Calderone and concealing it on a Sodus farm in May. He’s not charged with her murder or the murder of her infant son, whose body was found this fall.

At the evidentiary hearing, Reyes said he was threatened by police during a 15 hour interrogation. His defense attorney says seven hours of that interrogation were given to the court, but during the remaining part, Reyes was tricked into waiving his right to remain silent and was repeatedly denied an attorney.

The judge said he’ll review the tape, which has to be translated from Spanish.
