The latest Siena Poll finds Governor Andrew Cuomo enjoying a dramatic rise in his approval numbers.
The governor has a 61-31 percent favorability rating, which is his best in nearly three years. The statewide poll of registered voters finds 53 percent saying they’d re-elect him, compared to 36 percent who say they’d rather have someone else. His job performance rating has also moved into the black: 51 to 46 percent, up from a negative 54 to 37 percent last month. Most of the increase comes from upstate voters.
But voters only give Governor Cuomo positive ratings on two specific issues: higher education and human rights. On taxes, infrastructure, the economy and criminal justice, they say he’s doing fair or poor.
