The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a good Samaritan dove in Thursday afternoon when he saw a man attempting to snatch a woman’s purse near the Walmart on Nathaniel Poole Trail in the Town of Sweden.
Deputies say an elderly woman was leaving the Game Stop store behind the Walmart when a car pulled up, a man jumped out and tried to grab her purse. The good Samaritan then tackled the suspect, the purse strap broke and the purse snatcher jumped back into the car and the driver took off. They didn’t get the purse.
The good Samaritan suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The victim wasn’t hurt.
