The City of Rochester says difficulty in getting state approval has delayed the start of the vanpool program between the city and the del Lago Resort and Casino.
The mayor’s office announced a month ago that at least 80 people had signed up for one of the vans helping city residents commute to jobs at the casino in Seneca County. But Mayor Lovely Warren says they haven’t been able to start yet because the concept needs State Gaming Commission approval which hasn’t come yet.
The contract with the van pool company was signed last week, ahead of the casino opening this week.
The mayor says she’s confident things will work out.
