Over the weekend, Rochester police identified the man shot by police on Glasser Street early Friday morning as 28-year-old Mark Gaskill of Rochester.

Two officers remain suspended in the shooting case and the investigation continues. Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan said in a Friday afternoon news conference that the two officers fired into the car after opening the back door and spotting a gun. Gaskill was a rear seat passenger and at least nine shots were fired.

Police released the body camera video of the incident early Saturday morning. In it, officers can be seen trying to talk with Gaskill, who doesn’t want to talk with them. The car door opens, there are shouts of “gun, gun!” and within a second, several volleys of gunfire. Glass can be seen falling to the pavement.

Chief Herriot-Sullivan says it wasn’t know yet if Gaskill had fired any shots.
