A Geneva man was arrested for driving while high on drugs early this morning, after his car was hit and demolished by a freight train.

The Norfolk Southern train was running south on the line across Pre Emption Street south of Geneva not long after midnight when it hit the empty car. Deputies found the driver nearby and learned he had driven off the edge of the pavement at the crossing and got stuck across the tracks. Nobody was hurt.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Cody Maher was charged with driving with ability impaired by drugs.
