A Geneva man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine from Canada to the US.

Federal prosecutors say 29-year-old Joel Torres Diaz has been charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Diaz was stopped last Friday at the Peace Bridge, where officers found three packages inside a shoebox after searching his vehicle.

Authorities later determined that the three packages contained well over a pound of cocaine.
