The historic fountain in the Village of Geneseo has taken another hit by an errant driver; it’s third in recent months.
Geneseo Police say 37-year-old of Springville was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and disobeying a traffic control device. He allegedly tried to turn left off Center Street onto Main Street, cutting in front of the fountain and hitting it.
The fountain was hit twice last year, once by a tractor trailer which knocked it off its foundation and brought down the cast bronze bear from its perch. The fountain is still under restoration.
