A joint investigation by Geneseo Police and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a Geneseo man on charges of assaulting a three-month-old child.

Sheriff Thomas Dougherty and Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian say their departments and the Livingston County Child Protective Services Unit were called to Strong Memorial Hospital to investigate injuries to the child that included broken ribs and severe bruising. They found the injuries happened while the child was in the care of 25-year-old Brandon Augsbury.

Augsbury was charged with felony assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He’s being held on $10,000 bail.
