Gates Police say they were able to get a five-time felon off the streets and recover property stolen in Gates and in Ogden thanks to an alert citizen.
The department says someone spotted a man on Spencerport
Road about 2:30 in the morning who appeared to be looking into parked vehicles. Officers spotted 49-year-old Phillip Sullivan of Rochester a short distance away and found him in possession of numerous items of stolen property. They say they recovered items taken from at least three different cars.
Sullivan has been charged with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He’s being held on $1,500 bail.
Gates Police say they recovered other items and are looking for the rightful owners.
