Gates Police have made an arrest in the case of a woman who was thrown out of a moving jeep Monday on Buffalo Road. In a news conference this morning, Chief James VanBrederode said Roger Lee Wiggins was taken into custody yesterday at the Canadian Border. He was caught by U.S. Border Patrol agents.
Wiggins has been charged with second degree murder for allegedly stabbing Tracy Hinton-Williams in the head and neck, then throwing her out of a moving Jeep onto Buffalo Road. Investigators say it was a domestic violence incident.
Hinton-Williams was taken to the hospital but died of her injuries. Witnesses who saw the accident were able to provide a description of Wiggins’ black Jeep Liberty, which police located within a few hours.
