A Gates man is facing felony weapons and misdemeanor drug charges in what appears to be a larger illegal gambling investigation.
According to a complaint filed in City Court, Daniel Elliot was arrested after Rochester Police conducted a search last Friday night at an address on West Ridge Road near Dewey Avenue.
Elliot was found to be in possession of two handguns, both loaded and one without a serial number. Police say they found a bag of cocaine in Elliot’s pocket, as well as a briefcase containing more than 2 ounces of marijuana.
Rochester Police told 13 WHAM the raid stemmed from from a larger investigation into an illegal gambling operation, but Elliot is not facing any charges related to that at this time. They may be coming from the FBI in the future.
He will be back in court for a preliminary hearing February 9.
