Gates Police say authorities have located a man wanted for evidence tampering in connection with an overdose death earlier this year.
Police say Scott Pernesky was with his girlfriend, Jennifer Baker, at a motel on Buell Road when she died of a heroin overdose in February.
Instead of calling 911, investigators say Pernesky hid the drugs and wrapped Baker’s body in sheets before fleeing from the room.
Police say Pernesky has been captured in Chemung County and is in custody. He will be brought back to Gates soon to face the charges.
