The Gates Chili Central School District says it’s mourning the death of MaKenna Dadey, an 8th grader at Gates Chili Middle School.
A letter from Superintendent Kimberle Ward to the school community doesn’t say what happened, but MaKenna was the granddaughter of former district Superintendent William Dadey. The district says it’s counseling team is available for students, teachers and staff. Superintendent Ward says the district provided counselors at the Middle School today and will have them available again on Tuesday evening next week.
She says the entire school community offers sympathy to the family and will continue to support them and their students during a difficult time.
