Despite the devastation to the south from Hurricane Michael, gasoline prices held steady this past week. That reflects the fall drop in demand as the summer travel season ended

The national average price for a gallon of regular gas is down two cents at $2.89. The statewide average is down a penny at three dollars even.

Rochester is down two cents per gallon at $2.95, Buffalo is up a cent at $3.00 per gallon and Syracuse is down three cents at $2.92.

The AAA says the relative price stability means supply and demand are pretty much in sych across the entire region.
