As restoration continues from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, gasoline prices have peaked and started back down again in Central and Western New York.
The AAA says prices in Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse all went down over the past week, Rochester and Buffalo by a penny-per-gallon, and Syracuse by three cents. The Average across the five-county Rochester Region is now $2.76 a gallon. The national average price is down by a nickel at $2.62, and the statewide average is $2.81
AAA says refineries are working again and getting back to their pre-storm production. The government temporarily loosened regulations on gasoline and barge shipment to speed up deliveries.
