The national average gasoline price was unchanged over the last week, but local prices are still dropping slowly.
The Statewide average is at $2.99 for unleaded regular, down a penny a gallon from last week. Rochester averages $2.92, down a cent. Syracuse is down two cents at $2.89, and Buffalo is unchanged at $2.99.
Gasoline demand continues to slow down according to the AAA, causing prices to dip slightly. Gas demand is expected to spike again for Labor day, then drop as fall moves in.
