Gasoline prices have been dropping for the past month, both nationally and across the Rochester region.
The national average is now $2.85, down a nickel from last week. The New York State average is down three cents at $3.02.
The Rochester regional average is likewise down by three cents to $2.96 a gallon. Buffalo is down a cent at $3.00 and Syracuse is down four cents at $2.91.
The big news in oil is that OPEC announced on Friday it will boost oil production, which is expected to cut crude oil prices and bring lower prices at the pump. It’s not expected to change U.S. pump prices much as the July 4th holiday demand is coming.
