Gasoline prices fell back for a second week across the Rochester area. The AAA reports another three-cent drop over the past week, down to an average of $2.73 per gallon for the entire five-county region.
Buffalo dropped a penny to $2.74 and Syracuse six cents to $2.67.
The statewide average is $2.78, down three cents over last week. These prices are still about a quarter-per-gallon higher than a month ago before Hurricanes Irma and Harvey struck Texas and forced several major refineries to shut down. They’re back in business and the switchover to winter blend gas was made last week, meaning prices should continue to fall back for some time.
