The national average price for a gallon of gasoline has dropped by eight cents over the last week, and in Rochester it’s down by four cents.
The AAA of Western and Central New York says the Rochester regional average is now $2.84 per gallon. Buffalo is down two cents at $2.95 and Syracuse has dropped by six cents at $2.74.
The AAA says low demand and the end of refinery maintenance season have pushed down the prices at the pump. Falling oil prices have also contributed.
Gasoline demand will pick up this week as people travel for Thanksgiving.
