The predicted hike in gasoline prices has arrived. The AAA says the New York State Average is up four cents from last week to $2.73 for a gallon of unleaded regular.
The Rochester regional average is up six cents in the last week to $2.70. Buffalo is up three cents to $2.69 and Syracuse is up eight cents a gallon at $2.70.
The Auto Club says demand for gasoline is on the rise with the arrival of spring thanks to high demand from spring break travellers combined with rising crude oil prices.
The AAA says you can expect prices to go even higher in April when Easter travel starts. But higher prices apparently aren’t deterring anyone from going on the road. Nearly two-thirds of those planning a spring trip say they’re doing it by car.
