Gasoline prices have stabilized, both nationally and in the Greater Rochester area, according to the AAA.
The auto club says the national average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $2.95, down two cents from a week ago.
The Greater Rochester average is still over $3.00 per gallon, at $3.03. That’s down a penny over the past week. Buffalo is up two cents at $3.02 and Syracuse is down two cents at 3.03. These prices are about 50 cents higher than they were a year ago.
The federal government says gasoline demand has peaked nationwide, which is starting to hold down prices despite reduced supplies.
