Gas UpGasoline prices bumped up over the last week across the Rochester region and western New York.

The AAA says Rochester’s average was up two cents a gallon to $2.29. Buffalo is up three cents to $2.31 and Syracuse up a nickel at $2.27 per gallon.

The Auto Club says several things are behind the increase, including the market reacting to OPEC’s attempt to slow down oil production and Hurricane Matthew approaching the east coast. Some refineries are also shut down for maintenance.
