Regional gasoline prices stabilized last week. Both the national and New York State averages were unchanged.

The Rochester region was unchanged at $2.42 per gallon for unleaded regular. Syracuse was unchanged and Buffalo went up a cent to $2.39.

Demand has apparently peaked for the summer and refiners are looking ahead to the end of summer and back to school, when demand drops. Gas prices should be unchanged this week.

One thing to look for: refiners are about a month away from changing over to winter blend gas, which is cheaper than summer blend.
