The Rochester regional price for a gallon of gasoline is now $2.87, up two cents from a week ago and nearly 50 cents more per gallon than a year ago. The statewide average hit $2.94, up five cents from last Monday.

 

Buffalo is up four cents at $2.83 per gallon and Syracuse is up seven cents over the past week at $2.92.

 

On Friday, the national average gas price it its highest level since 2015, $2.80. The price went up by another penny over the weekend, and the AAA predicts it will increase by another five to ten cents by Memorial Day. It then expects prices to stabilize and stay below $3.00 per gallon.
