Gasoline prices have finally started their January drop, which was delayed over oil industry fears for the conflict with Iran.
The New York State Average prices for a gallon of unleaded regular is down a penny from last week at $2.71 per gallon. The national average is down three cents to $2.55.
The Rochester regional average is down two cents from last week at $2.67; Buffalo is down three cents at $2.64 and Syracuse is down a penny at $2.62.
January typically brings prices down as demand falls and the winter blend gas is cheaper to produce.
