Gasoline prices are still dropping across the Rochester area and western New York.

The AAA says the Rochester region’s average price is down by five cents over the past week, at $2.59 a gallon for unleaded regular. The Buffalo price is $2.68, down two cents and Syracuse averages $2.48, also down a nickel over the past week.

The New York State average is now $2.67 per gallon, down three cents.

AAA says gas prices are continuing to fall and stabilize across the country. The Energy Information Institute says gasoline inventories are on the rise now that the transportation problems caused by the hurricanes in Texas and Louisiana have been fixed.
