The AAA says the average price for regular unleaded gasoline is now $2.54 a gallon statewide, up two cents from last week as the spring price increase continues.

The auto club says the national average rose slightly every day of the past week as more drivers take to the highways for spring break and gas stations are receiving the more expensive summer blend gas.

The Rochester price rose by a penny to a regional average of $2.47 per gallon. Buffalo is also up a cent at $2.49 and Syracuse is likewise up a penny at $2.46.

Demand is continuing to grow, so prices are likely to keep rising during the warm weather months.
