The average price for a gallon of gas continues to drop slowly across the Rochester region and in Central New York. It’s holding steady in Western New York and Buffalo.

The AAA says the New York State average is now $2.63 a gallon, down two cents from last week. Rochester’s regional average is down two cents as well at $2.54. Syracuse is down two cents at $2.52 and Buffalo held steady at $2.64.

The Energy Information Administration’s weekly report says gasoline supplies have risen for the past five weeks, which is a new trend for this part of the year. Gasoline production is up and demand has been soft, causing a surplus.
