A resentencing for convicted murderer Frank Garcia was postponed today after Garcia refused to speak with his attorney in court. Garcia’s conduct caused a delay, and eventually postponement of the resentencing to another time.

Last month, an appeals court overturned one of the five life sentences Garcia was given after he carried out a series of revenge killings in 2009. He’ll be resentenced to 25-years-to-life on that particular charge.

Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckles says once he finally IS resentenced it will be a relief for Audra Dillon, the surviving victim of Garcia’s shooting spree.

Garcia shot and killed two nurses that he blamed after losing his job at two nursing homes. He also killed the husband of one of the women, and a man who tried to protect one his his victims.

They’ll try to resentence Garcia again on June first.
