Law enforcement agencies are continuing their search Thursday for a man now identified as 49-year-old Clyde David Morgan, accused of pulling a gun on a Geneseo police officer during a traffic stop on Wednesday. The off

Police say Morgan is now clean-shaven, unlike the photo.

The South Carolina resident has a violent criminal record with past weapons charges, according to Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty. The search continues to focus on an area around Route 63 in Geneseo where the incident took place, and where the sheriff says shots were fired during the traffic stop. The officer wasn’t injured.

Officials say Morgan is on federal probation and probably pulled the gun and ran because he was afraid a warrant was out for his arrest. A woman was taken into custody after she also tried to run from the traffic stop. She’s said to be cooperating with authorities but they’re not clear on her relationship with Morgan.

Morgan is considered armed and dangerous, and police say anyone who sees him should not approach, but call 911 immediately.

The search is on Thursday using a State Police helicopter and ground teams.
