Governor Cuomo’s office says Plug Power Inc. will build a $125 million innovation center in Henrietta, creating 377 new jobs. It will produce Proton Exchange Membranes, which are components of fuel cell stacks and electrolyzers.
Fuel Cells are used in the company’s ProGen fuel cell engines which turn hydrogen into electricity. They power electric vehicles including material handling equipment, fleet vehicles and drones. Electrolyers are used to manufacture hydrogen in commercial amounts for green energy.
The facility will be renovated from a current facility at 1025 John Street, and work will begin this quarter.
