Rochester police say a man was shot to death while sitting in a car in a Lyell Avenue Parking lot Monday night. Three other people were shot and wounded, but police aren’t sure if all were shot in the same incident.
They say officers responded to Lyell Avenue for the city’s ShotSpotter system about 10:30 Monday night and were flagged down by a woman in her 20s who was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her legs. The man, also in his 20s, was found in the car at 424 Lyell Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, two men arrived at Rochester General and Strong Memorial Hospitals with gunshot wounds. Both were dropped off by private cars. Investigators are working to determine if there were multiple shootings or a single incident
