The Rochester Fire Department responded Monday when a two-story commercial building caught fire on Hudson Avenue.
The department says 919 Hudson Avenue had a church on the first floor and apartments upstairs. A passerby saw the smoke and began banging on doors, alerting people to the fire. Four people got out safely.
Firefighters had the fire under control in about 15 minutes. It was located behind a wall in the attic and on the second floor.
