The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says four people have been charged with either trying to hide drugs while they were being booked into the Livingston County Jail, or trying to smuggle drugs to an inmate.
Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says two men were arrested on misdemeanor drug charges, and turned out to be hiding amounts of heroin in one case and cocaine in the other when they were searched at the jail.
A 34-year-old inmate from Mount Morris was chosen for a random search and jail deputies found 27 suboxone strips hidden in his cell.
Then a Geneseo woman was arrested after deputies caught her trying to pass suboxone to her incarcerated husband during a jail visit.
All four have been charged with promoting prison contraband.
