Chief Patrick Phelan

Town Supervisor Bill Reilich says Andrew “Drew” Forsythe will replace Patrick Phelan as chief of the Greece Police Department when Phelan retires at the end of the year.

Phelan has served as chief since 2014, and will go on to be Executive Director of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police.

Supervisor Bill Reilich and the Town Board have named Andrew Forsythe as chief. He’s currently Deputy Chief of Operations and Special Services, and before coming to the GPD in 2017, he served more than 30 years with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Forsythe takes over in January, but town officials say a formal swearing-in ceremony will depend on when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
