A former East Irondequoit Central School District employee has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Western New York says former teacher’s aide Leonard Ortiz, 20, was fired when the school district was informed by State Police of an investigation into his conduct. Investigators searched his home and found he had been trading pornographic images with other users via social media. More than 600 images and a number of devices were taken from his residence.
Ortiz is free on conditions including wearing a GPS tracking device.
The East Irondequoit School District says it had no reports of any questionable conduct by Ortiz while in their employ.
