Former Rochester Housing Authority Chair George Moses will serve six-and-a-half years in a federal prison camp for stealing authority funds.
Moses was sentenced this week in federal court after being found guilty last year of stealing from three nonprofit organizations he ran. At the time, federal prosecutors say he used the money for personal needs including a time share condo in Florida.
Moses’ defense attorney, Frederick Hafetz, said Moses also did tremendous good for the community, and his pastor spoke on Moses’ behalf saying he has remorse for his actions.
