A three alarm fire has destroyed a former motel building in Henrietta this morning.  Officials say it’s being demolished, and damages are in the millions.

The fire at the Country Inn and Suites on West Henrietta Road was spotted by a passing driver at about 4:00 a.m. The Henrietta Fire Department responded and called in mutual aid from the City of Rochester and more than a dozen other departments.

The former hotel was being converted into an assisted living facility. Firefighters say the alarms and sprinkler systems in the building were shut off because of the construction.  The Henrietta fire chief says nobody was injured but the main building partially collapsed and firefighters had to focus on keeping it confined to that one building.

Nobody was in the building and nobody was injured fighting the fire.
