A Pittsford attorney has admitted to “double dipping” and receiving state retirement benefits while she was still employed.

Diane Cecero was paid $85,000 from 2008 to 2014, based on pension fund earnings made while she was working for the New York Attorney General’s Office. On leaving the AG’s office, Cecero joined the law office at Monroe Community College and eventually became the college’s General Counsel, retiring in 2015.

Cecero admitted to the State Comptroller’s Office that she falsely filled out a retirement application while she was still working at MCC. As part of a consent agreement Cecero didn’t admit to any fraud, but agreed to pay the money back with interest.
