Former Judge Tells His Side

Former State Supreme Court Justice Matthew Rosenbaum has issued a video statement, responding to a

lawsuit filed against him by his former secretary.

The secretary charges that the judge raped her in her home, and forced her to perform sex acts on him in his judicial chambers. She also includes officials of several state agencies in the suit that she accuses of failing to respond to her complaints against Rosenbaum, allowing the abuse to continue.

Rosenbaum says, on the contrary, the two were having a consensual affair. He says there was no non-consensual sex and he apologized to the other state officials who were brought into the suit.

Rosenbaum apologized also to his family and wife for what he called a “wrong” and “stupid” affair. He said family members have been aware of this “for awhile” and have forgiven him.
