The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through 6:00 this evening.
Forecasters warn that temperatures in the 90s and tropical humidity are sending the heat index as high as 100 degrees this afternoon for Monroe, Wayne, Ontario and Cayuga Counties.
People working or exercising outside are at risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Drink plenty of fluids and do your best to stay out of the sun if you have to be outside.
