The number of flu cases in Monroe County doubled locally last week over the week before according to the Monroe County Health Department. There were 420 lab-confirmed cases last week.
That led Rochester Regional Health to impose visitor restrictions on Rochester General and Unity Hospital beginning New Year’s Eve. They were followed by UR Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland and the Wilmot Cancer Center.
No more than three people can visit a patient at a time, and all must be 14 or over. No visitors with coughs, runny nose or other flu symptoms are allowed to enter.
