The National Weather Service canceled the Flood Watch for the Lake Ontario shoreline last night and today. Northeast winds were milder than expected and lacked the power to drive the damaging waves ashore as we’ve seen in past flooding episodes this month and last.
The water-filled temporary flood dams being tested by the state in Greece and in Sodus Point held back the water, but the waves didn’t get as high as during the past three flood incidents.
