Canandaigua State Senator Pam Helming’s office says information on how homeowners can apply for New York’s Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River flood relief is now online. You can find the application form on the New York State Homes and Community Renewal Department’s web page.
Helming says this fund has $7 million available for homeowners hit by the Lake Ontario shoreline flooding. Up to $40,000 is available per person to support interior and exterior repairs and to repair or replace permanent fixtures like docks.
The state previously made $5 million available to help small business owners at up to $20,000 each for their uninsured damages.
The applications and details on what information you need to supply are online, but you get the money through your town or village, or through your regional non-profit community housing organization.
