A driver crashed a stolen Jeep into a building at Lake and Lexington Avenues Tuesday evening while trying to get away from Rochester Police.
Police say an officer stopped the Jeep because it had been reported stolen. While the officer was taking a woman into custody, another occupant of the Jeep jumped into the driver’s seat and took off. The Jeep struck another Jeep travelling south on Lake Avenue, causing the driver of the stolen Jeep to lose control and hit the building.
The man driving the stolen Jeep ran away. There were two women in the other jeep who suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Nobody in the building was hurt.
