WNY ties Houston, 2-2, in the 6th-Annual Pink Game.
The Western New York Flash (8-5-3 for 27 points), dropped into fourth place in the National Women’s Soccer League standings following a 2-2 against the Houston Dash on Saturday night at Rhinos Stadium.
The Flash picked up 1 point but the Chicago Red Stars won their game to move into third place with 28 points. Both teams have 4 games remaining in the regular season.
For the second time this season, WNY and Houston fought to a tie. The teams ended in a 3-3 draw on July 30 in Houston.
The Flash fell behind 1-0 and 2-1 but battled back both times to knot the count.
Lianne Sanderson tallied the equalizer in the 36th minute as the teams were 1-1 at intermission.
Makenzy Doniak scored the tying goal for the Flash in the second half.
WNY will finish the final 4 regular season games all on the road as the Flash drive to secure a playoff position.
