Rochester police closed down a section of West Broad Street downtown late Tuesday night when a man was seen sitting on a ledge atop the Terminal Building at 65 West Broad.

Police learned the 21-year-old man had been involved in an incident, and there were fears he might jump. Police called in the Forensic Intervention Team, which began talking to the man. After two and a half hours, he agreed to come off the ledge and walked back with officers and FIT members out of the building.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for observation, and the street was reopened.
