Rochester firefighters had to extract an Irondequoit woman from her wrecked car yesterday after a crash on Dewey Avenue just north of Driving Park Avenue.

Police say two cars crashed at Dewey and Selye Terrace when one driver crossed the center line and hit the side of the other car. Both cars were heavily damaged.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital where they were being treated for their injuries. Police say the southbound driver, 55-year-old Avan Davis of Rochester, was drunk. He’s been charged with DWI, vehicular assault and other citations.
