The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has determined a fire that destroyed it’s marine unit patrol boat at Sodus Point on Friday was accidental.
The department says in a statement that 68-year-old Theodore Koren, a Pennsylvania man, was doing maintenance on the fuel system of his 27 foot Baja boat when a gasoline fire 
somehow broke out. The fire spread to the 27 foot Boston Whaler Patrol Boat docked at the next slip at Krenzer Marine. Both boats were burned to the waterline and the dock they were tied to was destroyed as well.
Four fire companies responded to the scene, and nobody was hurt.
